This is a short safari featuring Maasai Mara National Reserve. The safari departs Nairobi in the morning and involves a drive down to the the floor of the Rift Valley, making a stop at view point to see the escarpment and the awesome sight of the valley and the features there in. To arrive Maasai Mara in time for lunch, followed by a late afternoon game drive that introduces you to Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. You will be picked up from the airport on the 25th December 2018 at 6.45 am by our driver guide and be dropped off at the airport on the 27th December 2018 at around 2.30 pm for your internal flight to Malindi.

 

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Pick up from your Nairobi Airport in the morning drive to Masai Mara through The Great African Rift Valley and Narok, Masai Mara Town. You will arrive in time for lunch check in at Ashnil Mara Camp and have lunch. Afternoon game drive through the park in search of the Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other members of the Big five plus other animals. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

 

Day 2: Explore Masai Mara

Early morning breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve and the triangle searching and looking for the numerous animals in this park. The Masai Mara is famous for its lions, elephants, leopard, rhino and buffalo that make the ‘big five’ though luck is essential for spotting the other two namely rhino and leopard which are rather shy and elusive. The park’s animal concentration and abundance is second to none. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks. Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, Masai giraffe can be seen as well as scavengers like hyena and vulture. Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight. You can also decide to have an early morning game drive, return to the camp for full breakfast, venture out to a mid morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and then go again for an evening game drive. The choice is all yours.

 

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi

You will have an early morning game drive for a chance to see more animals. Return to the camp for full breakfast followed by check out and have another short game drive en route as you drive to Nairobi arriving in time for your flight to Malindi. Included in the price is exclusive use of the vehicle during your safari, services of a professional driver guide, all park entry fees, full board accommodation at Ashnil Mara Camp, all game drives in a 4x4 Safari Land Cruiser, bottled water throughout your safari, pick up and drop off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi, driver’s allowances as well as driver’ accommodation.

Child Policy

At Diani Beach Tours and Safaris, we understand the importance of creating memorable family vacations. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for families with children, we have formulated the following children policy:

1. Children below 3 years:
   • Children aged below 3 years old are welcomed with open arms and are eligible to travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one paying adult.
2. Children between 3 and 12 years:
   • Children between the ages of 3 and 12 years will be charged at a discounted rate of 75 percent of the adult rate. This is our way of making family travel more accessible and affordable for parents with young children.
3. Teens between 13 and 18 years:
   • Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 years are considered young adults and will be subject to the full adult rate. This reflects our commitment to offering fair pricing while recognizing the changing needs and preferences of older children.

 

Booking Policy

Clients are supposed to make a 50 percent down payment to confirm their safari. The balance is paid either in cash or through credit card upon arrival in Kenya before commencement of the safari. Please note that credit card payment attracts an extra charge which is levied by the banks.
